Biography
Margaret Louisa Campbell Titley
Margaret “Peggy†was born at home, July 28, 1916 on her family’s farm in Danville, Pennsylvania. The first eight years of her education, she was the only student in her class in a one-room schoolhouse. After graduation from Danville High School with honors, she attended Penn State University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Home Economics in 1943. It was there she met her future husband, Richard (Dick) K. Titley. On September 15, 1945 Peggy and Dick were married.
In 1984, Dick and Peg took up residence at Azalea Trace, where she continued her long tradition of volunteer service. She worked in the office at First UMC Pensacola where she and Dick served as active members since their arrival in Pensacola.
She and Dick made great team work on various projects together, from building a house in Virginia Beach, to building cabinets, church altars and installing a galley in their sailboat. This included building the altar and pulpit in the chapel at Pensacola’s Azalea Trace, plus the altar and pulpit at Pensacola’s St. Luke’s UMC in its beginning years.
