Biography
Thomas Felton Harrison was born in Harrison, GA and spent his early years in Ft. Pierce, Florida, where he graduated from St. Lucie High School in 1933. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in WWII. He entered Florida Southern College at age 26, transferring to the University of Florida where he received his Bachelor of Science and Education and Masters of Arts and Education in 1949. Dr. Harrison received his Doctorate of Education from the University of Mississippi in 1961 and received the first Doctor of Letters awarded by the University of West Florida in 1969.
He served as President of Pensacola Junior College for 17 years, retiring in 1980, and was President Emeritus until his death in 1991.
