George W. Anderson
June 6, 1907 – March 8, 2002

George W. Anderson was born on a farm near Newton, Illinois on the 6th of June, 1907. He came from a family of five, all of whom were school teachers. His first job was at the age of eighteen in a county school of forty students with all grades (one through eight). After four years teaching he was given the job as principal of an elementary school, then the assistant principalship of a high school. After serving in the high school, he was the superintendent of a city school system.

His parents were always encouraging their children to be honest, productive and to strive for the top. He was an Eagle Scout, a Scout Master and thirty two degree Ancient Free and accepted Mason.
