First United Methodist Church is hosting a special viewing of the documentary Screenagers. This documentary explains how technology can impact a child’s development and hits on the challenges of parenting in the digital age. This is a free and public event open to students and parents, 5th grade and above, but because of the limited space please RSVP by January 22!

Tammy Ward, Communications Director with the Better Business Bureau and Gwendolyn Rhodes, Community Outreach & Wellness Specialist with the Area Agency on Aging will help us understand how to protect ourselves and who to call if we feel we have been taken advantage of by a scam. The soaring stained-glass windows of First United Methodist’s sanctuary provide a beautiful setting for a performance of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3, featuring Concertmaster Leonid Yanovskiy in his 20th season with the PSO. Also on the program is Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, “Jupiter,” the final symphony written by the prolific composer. This hour-long, intimate concert is a wonderful experience if you have never attended a Symphony concert or if you have been going for years. All tickets are $10, general admission.
Make a difference in our community by bringing non-perishable canned food items in for Manna Food Pantries Sunday, February 2 for “Souper Bowl Sunday”. Join us for Breathe, 2020 Women’s Retreat. This twenty-four hour get away is a chance to fellowship with other church friends, focus on your Christian walk, to relax and hear God speak to you, and a chance to breathe. It is truly a retreat. We will also talk about ways to continue your retreat experience when you get home.
