Join us for the annual Church-Wide Retreat at beautiful Blue Lake in Andalusia, AL. This 24 hour get away will give you and your family a time to refresh, recalibrate, and reunite. This year will feature guest speaker, Rev. Nathan Attwood. Nathan Attwood is the pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Marianna, FL. An Elder in the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the UMC, he earned his doctorate from Columbia Theological Seminary and went to seminary at Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He and his wife Shawna have a grown daughter, Lauren Cowan, a religion major at Huntingdon College, and a six-year-old daughter, Maggie Grace.
This year’s event will kick off on Saturday morning with check-in from 8:00- 9:00am and concludes on Sunday at 11:00am. We will offer a wide range of activities, from canoeing to hayrides, as well as free time to explore the campgrounds. The first night includes dinner and a time of worship, closing out with a slippers-and-PJs parade and a pajama dance party before quiet time kicks in at 10:30pm. Other activities throughout the weekend include morning runs, paddle boating, swimming, antique shopping, pumpkin carving, face painting and gathering around a bonfire to roast marshmallows.
