Lisa Wallace Geise Scholarship

Biography

Lisa Wallace Geise
December 18, 1962 – February 26, 1989

Lisa was born in Mobile, Alabama. When she was in the first grade her family moved to North Carolina, then to Pensacola when she was in the fifth grade. She graduated from Woodham High School in 1981, tenth in her class of 265.

Lisa’s life from infancy always revolved around the United Methodist Church. During high school she attended St. Mark United Methodist Church in Pensacola, where she was active in many aspects of the life of the church including UMYF, the church choirs and girls’ basketball team.  She was an avid reader and was fluent in French. She had a sweet and clear soprano voice and sang as a part of a girls’ ensemble.

She was married at First United Methodist Church in 1983 and was one of the first brides to have her reception in the newly purchased Wright Place. She graduated from the University of West Florida in 1985 with a degree in accounting information systems. After graduation she was recruited for a position as programmer at Larson Jule, a large framing company in Norcross, GA.

Tragically, Lisa was killed at her workplace in Norcross at the age of twenty-six. She continues to be deeply missed by her family and her many friends. She is remembered as a precious, beautiful young woman who possessed and displayed all of the “gifts of the spirit” in her short life.
