Services in-person & online at 8:30 and 11:00am at Florida's Oldest United Methodist Church

At First Church, we recognize the importance of serving one another. The Congregational Care Team is a ministry of clergy and laity who have joined together to provide care for our members. The team is trained to provide visits for members who are in crisis, need prayer, are experiencing grief, are homebound or desire to receive communion. If you need assistance from our clergy, staff or Pastoral Care Team, or have a prayer request please note the following:

· All Pastoral Care information is confidential within our pastoral care team, unless you indicate otherwise.
· If you have an upcoming surgery/procedure, please inform the church office.
· If a hospitalization occurs, please inform the church office.
· In case of an emergency or if a death occurs, please contact Ginger Raines at 850.259.3177.
· The clergy/pastoral care staff make hospital visits each weekday and as needed on weekends.

Good Shepherd
Good Shepherd volunteers help our growing church remain in community with one another. Shepherds contact members once a month to establish fellowship and connection. No formal training is required.

Prayer Team
Our prayer team meets once a week to pray for anyone in need of prayer. They pray over the church-wide prayer list and for individuals who submit prayer request using request forms located around campus. In addition, they send notes of encouragement to let individuals know their church is praying for them.

Prayer Shawl Ministry  | Tuesdays at 10:00am
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group who love to knit, crochet and, more importantly, desire to encourage fellow church members in hard times. Prayer shawls are presented to anyone who needs assurance of God’s love and comfort in their lives. Click HERE for more info.

Flower Ministry
The Pastoral Care Team delivers bouquets made from the flowers used during Sunday worship. These bouquets are delivered to the sick, homebound, or anyone in need of a brighter day.

Grief Share (Fall)
Grief Share is a 10-week Christian support ministry for individuals who have lost a spouse, child, family member or friend. Weekly meetings include a video seminar with experts, a support group discussion with focus, and personal study and reflection. Click HERE for more info.

Casserole Ministry
The Casserole Ministry provides meals for those in the church and community who are sick, grieving, or facing a challenging time.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. In Acts 6, Stephen was among those chosen to provide caring ministry to those in need. Since Jesus’ time, caring ministry has been a hallmark of the Christian faith community.
