A PRAYER FOR THE BEREAVED
Grant, 0 Lord, to all who are bereaved the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life with those they love. And this we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
First Church is here for you and your family during this time of loss and grief. The following First Steps will guide you through this difficult time as you plan the service for your loved one.
First Steps
Please Note: The deceased must be affiliated with the family of First United Methodist Church and must be a full member in good standing. Active members are defined as those whose membership resides with First Church and have a record of financial support in the life and ministry of the church.
Please contact the Church Office (850.432.1424) and inform us of the passing of your loved one. In the event that the Church Office is closed, please contact Ginger Raines, Senior Pastor’s Secretary (850.259.3177 or GRaines@FUMCPensacola.com). At that time, please inform us if you would like to hold the service/reception at First United Methodist Church of Pensacola. Please provide name and contact information (email and phone).
The Living Trust
The Living Trust is a special fund set up to receive gifts for memorials that you may wish to give in memory of or in honor of an individual. This is given in lieu of flowers from friends and family. Contact Holly Houghton, Director of Finance, with any questions (HHoughton@FUMCPensacola.com).
Columbarium
A columbarium is a permanent structure with recessed niches to respectfully store cremation urns. The Columbarium at FUMC Pensacola is located on the courtyard on the North side of the Main Sanctuary and offers a serene and dignified space for families to visit and remember their loved ones.
