Traditional Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is a Christian holy day of prayer and fasting. Ash Wednesday derives its name from the placing of ashes on the foreheads of participants to the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” It is a symbol that causes us to remember our mortality and need for repentance.

This is a traditional service with imposition of the ashes. Dr. Wachob will give the sermon and the music will be lead by our Sanctuary Choir.
